EC Team Visits Bhopal to Review Preparations for Upcoming MP Assembly polls

Bhopal, 4th Sept. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar arrived in Bhopal with Election Commissioners Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goel on Monday to evaluate preparations for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections.

The elections are set to take place later this year.

The committee, which included the CEC and two election commissioners, arrived in Bhopal for a three-day visit and was greeted at the Raja Bhoj Airport by Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan, according to a tweet from the Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer.

Several leaders from eight districts, including a sitting MLA, recently resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joined the Congress party ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

These leaders joined the party at the state Congress office in Bhopal, in the presence of state Congress chief Kamal Nath and Congress leader Randeep Surjewala.

On September 25, the birth anniversary of legend Deendayal Upadhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a conference attended by around one million workers to mark the culmination of all five yatras in Bhopal.
