ED Arrests Jharkhand CM Soren’s Aide Prem Prakash After Recovering AK-47s from his House

Ranchi, 25th August. Prem Prakash, an alleged close aide of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, was arrested a day after the ED recovered two AK-47 rifles from his residence.

Prem Prakash was apprehended on Wednesday night following a search in connection with the alleged illegal mining case. He was arrested in Ranchi in accordance with the provisions of the Money Laundering Act.

The ED recovered two AK-47 rifles and 60 cartridges from Prem Prakash’s home on Wednesday. While searching Prem Prakash’s Jharkhand residence in a Rs 100-crore illegal mining case, ED officials discovered two AK-47s kept in an iron Almirah.

Meanwhile, Nishikant Dubey, the BJP’s Godda MP, said in a tweet, “Prem Prakash has been arrested by the ED. Prakash is an associate of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family friend Amit Agarwal and that his (Prakash) links should be investigated by the NIA.”

According to Vinod Kumar, SHO Argora Police Station, the arms recovered (AL-47) from Prem Prakash’s residence belong to police security personnel. Ranchi Police have suspended two officers for keeping their rifles at Prem Prakash’s residence.

Prem Prakash, a real estate businessman, was questioned by the agency in May in connection with an illegal mining and money laundering case.
