ED Raids Multiple Locations in West Bengal Over Ration Distribution Scam

Kolkata, 30th July. Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials are conducting simultaneous raids at residences, mills, and offices of various businessmen and two leaders from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) across 10 locations in North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal.

The raids, which began on Tuesday, are part of an ongoing investigation into a multi-crore ration distribution scam.

Accompanied by central forces, ED officers have targeted areas including Rajarhat, Barasat, Basirhat, Bhangar, and Deganga.

The searches are focusing on rice and flour mills, as well as business offices suspected of being involved in the scam, either directly or indirectly. Among the locations being scrutinized are the mills owned by two TMC leaders in Deganga.

The investigation has already led to the arrest of state forest minister Jyotipriyo Mallick, who previously served as the food minister, in connection with the scandal.
