Ranchi, 4th March.
In a recent development in the Mahadev betting app case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its probe by arresting two more individuals allegedly involved in money laundering and illicit activities associated with the app.

Suraj Chokhani, the Managing Director of Ability Games Ltd Company, and Girish Talreja, identified as key players in the case, were remanded to one-day judicial custody by the Raipur Court on Sunday.

These arrests come in the wake of the recent apprehension of Nitish Diwan in the same money laundering case. Saurabh Pandey, the lawyer representing the ED, disclosed that Chokhani and Talreja statements were recorded to corroborate Diwan’s claims. However, their statements reportedly contradicted the evidence in possession of the ED, leading to their arrest.

Saurabh Pandey, the ED’s lawyer in the case, remarked, “The statements made by these two individuals were contradictory to the evidence we have, hence their arrest was warranted. We had sought a 14-day custodial remand, but the court granted a one-day judicial remand.”

According to Pandey, Chokhani has close ties with Tibrewal, a hawala operator allegedly involved in the Mahadev app operations. He also mentioned the involvement of Girish Talreja and Saurabh Chandrakhar in managing an ID named Lotus 365 linked to the Mahadev app for betting purposes.

The Enforcement Directorate had conducted raids at over 15 locations across the country last week as part of its ongoing money laundering investigation into the Mahadev online betting and gaming app case.

Previously, the agency had arrested Asim Das, Bheem Singh Yadav, Chandrabhushan Verma, Anil Kumar Agrawal, Sunil Dammani, and Satish Chandrakar in connection with the case. The ED alleged that the illicit funds generated by the app were used for bribery involving politicians and bureaucrats.

The agency has also summoned several celebrities and Bollywood actors for questioning regarding their involvement with the online betting platform and related payment methods.
