Ex-Congress MLA Sanjay Shukla & Brother Get Rs 140 Cr Illegal Mining Notice Even Switching to BJP

Indore, 4th April.
Former MLA Sanjay Shukla and his brother Rajendra Shukla, despite their recent switch to the BJP, find themselves embroiled in a legal battle over an illegal mining case amounting to Rs 140 crore.

Sanjay Shukla, who transitioned from the Congress to the BJP, is yet to reap any benefits from this party switch.

The allegations stem from an incident on February 8, 2024, when the Mineral Department accused them of illegal mining worth Rs 140 crore, prompting preparations to issue a notice. However, Shukla opted to join the BJP in response to this looming notice.

Despite expectations that the notice might cease further action, the district administration has formally lodged a case against them for illegal mining and issued the notice on Monday, April 1.

The notice, totaling Rs 140 crore, 63 lakh, and 14 thousand 330 rupees, has been served to Sanjay Shukla, his brother Rajendra Shukla, and others involved.

All parties involved have acknowledged receipt of the notice.

Following the Mineral Department’s investigation and report on the illegal excavation, this notice has been issued from the court of Additional Collector Gaurav Bainal.

Besides Sanjay and Rajendra, the notice also extends to Eden Garden Housing Cooperative Society, Nilesh (father of Banwari Lal Pansari, resident of Khajrana), and Meharban Singh (father of Prem Singh Rajput, resident of Baroli).
