Ex-Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy and Wife Declare Combined Assets of ₹217.21 Crore

Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and his wife Anitha have a total asset value of 217.21 crore, as per the affidavit submitted during his nomination as a candidate for the Mandya Lok Sabha seat.

The couple also declared liabilities of 82.17 crore.

Anitha, a former MLA, is wealthier than her husband HD Kumaraswamy, who is the son of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda. Anitha’s total assets are valued at 154.39 crore, while HD Kumaraswamy’s assets are worth 54.65 crore, with additional assets from the Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) valued at 8.17 crore.

HD Kumaraswamy, a Bachelor of Science (BSc) graduate, describes himself as a social worker, politician, and agriculturist.

Anitha earns income from business and rentals, as she is involved in the petrol and petroleum products business under the name Nikhil & Co, and is also a director at Kasthuri Media Pvt Ltd.

HD Kumaraswamy has three pending criminal cases against him and owns a tractor valued at 12.55 lakh, while Anitha owns a car worth 11.15 lakh from Nikhil & Co.

HD Kumaraswamy possesses gold worth 47.06 lakh and diamonds worth 2.60 lakh, while Anitha’s gold and diamonds are valued at 2.41 crore and 33.09 lakh, respectively.

HD Kumaraswamy’s assets include agricultural lands worth 37.48 crore, a residence in JP Nagar third phase valued at 6.46 crore, and a share in a commercial building from HUF worth 6.97 crore.

Anitha owns agricultural lands worth 28.38 crore and two commercial buildings valued at 35.69 crore, according to the affidavit.
