Exploring BJP’s Strategy to Attract Voters in Rajasthan

New Delhi, 6th Nov. The Congress in Rajasthan is relying on its women-centric welfare schemes and guarantees to attract voters, while the BJP is mobilizing women leaders from other states to counter the ruling party.

Women leaders from Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Delhi, and Jammu Kashmir are campaigning in various constituencies of the poll-bound state to promote the Modi government’s schemes and programs and reach out to the general public, especially women.

The assembly elections in the state will be held on November 25, with counting on December 3.

Deepti Rawat Bharadwaj, the BJP Mahila Morcha national general secretary, who is in charge of the party’s women’s unit in Rajasthan during elections, said that a strategy has been developed to ensure that women’s votes go to the BJP. Women make up about 50 percent of the total voters in Rajasthan, so the Congress government in the state has launched several schemes for them. These include the Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojna, Annapurna Food Packet Scheme, half fare in state roadways buses, gas cylinders for Ujjawala scheme beneficiaries, and a free sanitary napkin scheme.

Bharadwaj explained that experienced women from other states have been brought in to help with the elections due to the pressure involved. They are moving to different assembly constituencies and teams have been formed for a home-to-home campaign.

The strategy involves two teams working in each circle, one in the morning and one in the evening.

The BJP has enlisted sitting MLAs, former MLAs, senior office bearers, and mayors to help with the campaign.

Bharadwaj stated that women’s votes have always gone to the BJP and PM Narendra Modi because he fulfills his promises.

She said that members of the Mahila Morcha are conducting corner meetings, home-to-home campaigns, and reaching out to female voters in various ways.

She criticized the Congress government, claiming that cases of rape and atrocities against women have increased under their rule and that their schemes have not benefited women.

Archana Sharma, the social welfare board chairperson and Congress candidate from Jaipur’s Malviya Nagar assembly constituency, defended the Gehlot government’s record on women-centric schemes. She claimed that Rajasthan is the state where immediate action has been taken on crimes against women, while the BJP supports culprits wherever they are in power.

Sharma also highlighted the assistance provided by the Gehlot government to help women manage their kitchens during times of high inflation caused by the policies of the Modi government.

Sharma expressed confidence that the Congress would retain power in the state, stating that there is no anti-incumbency factor and the atmosphere is in favor of the Congress.

She criticized the BJP for failing to fulfill their promises and burdening the people with inflation. She claimed that there is no Modi wave this time because the BJP has been fully exposed.
