Former CBDT Chairman PC Mody Appointed as New Secretary- General of Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, 12th Nov. Former CBDT chairman Pramod Chandra Mody has been appointed as the new Secretary General of Rajya Sabha. PC Modi will replace PPK Ramacharyulu.

PC Mody’s term in the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) ended on May 31 this year. He is a 1982 batch IRS officer. Mody was appointed CBDT chairman in February 2019.

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu signed the order of appointment to this effect. Mody is likely to take charge today.

Pramod Chandra Mody replaces PPK Ramacharyulu, who was appointed SG on September 1 this year. Ramacharyulu has now been appointed as an advisor to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat. He was appointed as the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha in September.
