New Delhi, 4th April. In a significant boost to the Aam Aadmi Party in Haryana, former Haryana Congress chief Ashok Tanwar is all set to join the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party.

Tanwar will join AAP on Monday in the presence of party national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Ashok Tanwar, former MP from Sirsa in Haryana, had quit the Congress party in 2019.

Tanwar was president of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC). He has also served as the president of Indian Youth Congress and the Congress’s students’ wing NSUI.

Tanwar joining AAP is a significant boost for the party as it is working on expanding its base in Haryana in view of the assembly elections in 2024.

Several leaders from the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party and other parties recently joined the AAP since the party’s landslide win in Punjab.
