Varanasi, 17th May. The Varanasi civil court on Tuesday sacked the Advocate-Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra from the committee formed to survey Gyanvapi mosque.

The court- assigned special Commission has got two-more days to submit the survey report.

“Court has granted two days’ time to submit the report. He (Advocate-Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra) was not cooperating,” said Assistant Court Commissioner Ajay Pratap Singh.

The Commission had requested two-days’ time to submit the survey report.

“We had sought two days’ time from the court. The Court has granted us two days’ time for submission of the report,” Advocate Vishal Singh, the Court-appointed special assistant commissioner said.

The survey continued for three days from May 14-16.

According to Assistant Court Commissioner Ajay Pratap Singh, only 50 per cent of the report was complete by Tuesday morning.

The three-day-long court- mandated videography survey of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple-Gyanvapi Mosque premises in Varanasi concluded on Monday.

The Hindu petitioner in the case, SohanLal Arya on Monday said that the committee found a Shivling at the complex.

SohanLal Arya, who accompanied the court commission for the mosque survey, stated that they have found “conclusive evidence”.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday heard the plea pursuing a stay on the survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque complex in Varanasi and directed the DM Varanasi to ensure that the Shivling area remains protected till the next hearing, but it should not restrict Muslims to offer namaz.
