Haryana Congress Not a Divided House, Will Fight Unitedly: Chidambaram

GG News Bureau
Chandigarh, 16th Sept. Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram on Monday said that the Haryana Congress is united and will fight the upcoming October 5 state assembly elections together.

Addressing the media, the former Union minister dismissed reports of infighting and emphasized that the party’s leadership stands united behind its candidates.

“There is no dissidence in the Congress party,” Chidambaram said. He highlighted the respect between senior Congress leaders like Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Kumari Selja and expressed confidence in a united campaign to secure victory in the elections.

Chidambaram slammed the BJP government on various fronts, including its handling of the economy, agriculture, and state debt.

He claimed that the BJP had failed to provide sufficient agricultural credit and slammed the Fasal Bima Yojana, which he labeled as a “total failure.” He urged farmers and voters to reject the BJP in the upcoming elections, pointing to Haryana’s rising unemployment and mounting state debt.

Chidambaram also dismissed claims by BJP leader Anil Vij, who staked his claim for the chief minister’s post. He asserted that the central BJP is losing control over its state unit, further deepening the party’s internal divide.

Polling for Haryana’s 90 assembly seats will be held on October 5, with results to be announced on October 8.
