Hemanta Dhing Mazumdar Highlights History Research, NEP 2020 at Central University of Odisha

 A significant meeting was held on July 11, 2024, at the Central University of Odisha, Koraput, bringing together esteemed faculty members and university officials. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chakradhar Tripathi, and Acting Registrar, Professor Narsingh Charan Panda, were in attendance, alongside faculty from various departments.

The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to the National Secretary and Contact Head of the Historical Compilation Scheme by Vice-Chancellor Professor Tripathi, who presented a shawl and a bouquet of flowers. Following this, attendees introduced themselves in their native languages and dialects, creating a unique and pleasant experience for everyone present.

Hemanta Dhing Mazumdar, National Secretary of the All India Historical Compilation Scheme, New Delhi, provided an insightful presentation on several key topics. These included the Saraswati River research expedition, the Aryan invasion theory, changes in the history curriculum under NEP 2020, and the activities of the Historical Compilation Scheme.

Kamlesh Dash, All India Contact Head of the Historical Compilation Scheme, also addressed the gathering. He discussed the Amrit Mahotsav, unsung freedom fighters, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Veer Savarkar, highlighting their significant contributions.

The event saw the presence of Shri Bibhudatta Mahapatra, Treasurer of the Indian History Compilation Committee, Odisha Western Province. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the Head of the Department of Economics, who expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, guest speakers, and attendees.

The session ended on an auspicious note with the recitation of the Kalyan Mantra by the Acharya of the Sanskrit department.
