Bangkok, 24th Nov. Thailand’s Prime Minister Shetta Thaksin has expressed hope that the turbulent world will draw inspiration from the Hindu values of truth, tolerance and harmony and establish peace in the world.

The 3rd World Hindu Congress was inaugurated in Bangkok on Friday with an aim to establish the identity of Hindus as a progressive and talented society in the world.  Renowned saint Mata Amritanandamayi, Swami Purnatmanand of Bharat Sevashram Sangha, RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohanrao Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale   , Vishwa Hindu Parishad General Secretary Milind Parande and the founder-facilitator of the programme Swami Vigyananand started the session by lighting the lamp.

The inaugural session was scheduled to be attended by the Prime Minister of the host country, Mr. Srettha Thavisin, but due to some reasons he could not come. The Thai Prime Minister’s message was read out at the gathering. In his message, he said it is an honour for Thailand to host the World Hindu Congress on the principles and values of Hinduism. Whatever our geographical distance from India, the principles of truth and tolerance of Hinduism have always been respected. I hope that today’s turbulent  world will take inspiration from the Hindu values of truth, tolerance and harmony and establish peace in the world.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said in his address that if the whole world wants harmony, it is not possible without India. Those in the world who want this world together, those who want the upliftment of all together, are theists. Dharma’s attitude towards Hindus will give rise to global religious ideas. The world is looking at us with hope and we have to fulfil it. ‘

Explaining the motto of the conference as ‘Jayasya Ayatanam Dharma’, Shri Bhagwat said that in Sanatan Dharma, ‘Jai’ does not mean winning by fighting and suppressing the enemy. For us, victory means religion. Religion always triumphs and it works for the betterment of all, happiness of all, unity in diversity by connecting everyone and taking everyone along. This has been our tradition.

“Dharma is the name of continuity and balance or middle path. Therefore, it leads to the elimination of radicalisation and extremism. “Sometimes even those who don’t want  to fight have to fight to protect religion and ensure peace.

Quoting Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar’s Kural, he said that everything except hatred, lust, anger and indecent speech is all religion. “We are not an agitation or a protest but an organisation that strongly unites Hindus. There have been many experiments based on materiality to achieve happiness and peace in the world. But no satisfaction and solution was found. After the Corona epidemic, the world saw that India can give them what they want.

Shri Bhagwat said that if those who say unity in diversity understand and realize that unity is the root of diversity, then they will feel satisfied. It’s a big job. “Hindus went to every corner of the world but no one went to win land. In fact, the consolation of the persecuted people all over the world was found in India itself. We have won the hearts of the people and will continue to win. He said that the first step is to connect every Hindu. Then Hindus will unite the rest of the world. “That should be our objective.

“Those who want to live together, those who want to uplift together are Hindus. The target should be set in this conference and we should complete it before the conference next year. Our national task is dharma vijay for all, not material victory. India is rising up for Sanatan Dharma.

Mata Amritanandamayi said in her blessing that India is the land which has shown the path of ultimate truth to the world. We consider the whole world as one family.

Earlier, Shri Bhagwat congratulated Mata Amritanandamayi by presenting her a shawl and a citation for her outstanding contribution in the propagation of Hinduism.

VHP General Secretary Milind Parande, Swami Purnatmanand ji and Editor-in-Chief of Hinduism Acharya Arumuganath Swami also addressed the gathering.

The World Hindu Congress is being attended by more than 2,200  delegates from 61  countries of the world who have made remarkable achievements in the fields of education, economics, academics, research and development,   media and politics. These include MPs and ministers from about 25 countries.

Thailand is home to nearly one  million members of the Indian community, whose contribution to the country’s trade and economic development is significant. Local people were disappointed with the absence of the Thai Prime Minister at the conference.
