HP Cabinet Expansion: Seven New Ministers Take Oath

Shimla, 8th Jan. The Himachal Pradesh cabinet, led by Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, was expanded on Sunday with the induction of seven new ministers, bringing the total to nine.

At a ceremony at the Raj Bhawan, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office to the newly inducted ministers.

Dhani Ram Shandil, the eldest MLA from Solan, Chander Kumar from Jawali in Kangra district, Harshwardhan Chauhan from Shillai in Sirmaur district, and Jagat Singh Negi from tribal Kinnaur district are among the newly appointed ministers.

Rohit Thakur, Anirudh Singh, and Vikramaditya Singh from Shimla district’s Jubbal-Kotkhai, Kasumpti, and Shimla (Rural) were also inducted. Aside from the position of deputy speaker, three vacancies remain because the maximum number of ministers, including the chief minister, cannot exceed 12.

On December 11, Chief Minister Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri were sworn in.
