ICAR and Dhanuka Agritech Limited Sign MoU to Revolutionize Agricultural Technology Delivery

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Dhanuka Agritech Limited have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering collaboration to deliver cutting-edge agricultural technology to farmers across the country.

The agreement was signed yesterday by Dr. U.S. Gautam, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension) of ICAR, and Dr. R.G. Aggarwal, Chairman of Dhanuka Agritech Limited, representing their respective organizations.

Speaking about the significance of the MoU, Dr. Gautam emphasized its objective of leveraging the expertise of both institutions to empower farmers with new technologies. With over 14.5 crore farmers in the country, many of whom possess small land holdings, the partnership aims to provide training in agricultural production, particularly targeting small-scale farmers. Dhanuka Agritech will collaborate with central institutes, ATARIs, and KVKs to impart such training.

Dr. Gautam underscored the pressing global challenge of climate change and emphasized the need for innovative, climate-friendly agricultural practices. He highlighted the MoU’s focus on promoting natural farming methods tailored to adapt to changing environmental conditions.

Dr. Aggarwal, representing Dhanuka Agritech Limited, reiterated the company’s commitment to providing advisory services and training to farmers in collaboration with ICAR-ATARI and KVKs. The partnership aims to enhance farmers’ knowledge and skills, enabling them to adopt modern agricultural practices effectively.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials including Assistant Director General of ICAR, Directors, senior scientists, and officers from ICAR headquarters, further highlighting the significance and commitment of both organizations towards agricultural development.

This collaborative endeavor between ICAR and Dhanuka Agritech Limited marks a significant step towards harnessing technology and expertise to address the evolving needs of Indian agriculture, thereby contributing to the welfare of farmers and sustainable agricultural growth.
