Include main tributaries of Ganga in Namami Gange project: Bishan Singh Chufal

Pithoragarh, 24th June. Bishan singh Chufal, drinking water minister of Uttarakhand state has demanded from union government that main tributary of River Ganga flowing in the state should be included in Namami Gange project.
” We have also demanded from union government that budget be soon granted for treatment plants to be established at 9, polluting stretches in US Nagar district,” said Chufal, after he met union water resources minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
According to the minister, the rivers flowing in the state, like river Kali, Kosi, Gaula, Gomati Saryu and Rispana, also make status of Ganga tributaries and fall into river Ganga at one or another place.” The 100 percent purity of Ganga can only be achieved when its tributaries are also cleaned under the project. “said Chufal.
According to the minister, union water resources minister has assured him to include all his demands in the list for future projects. “with help from union government, all Himalayan rivers flowing from state and fall into river Ganga.
