President of India Graces 5th Convocation of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, Faridabad

Faridabad, 22nd August. President Droupadi Murmu attended the 5th convocation ceremony of JC Bose University of Science and Technology in Faridabad, Haryana, on August 21, 2024.

During her address, President Murmu emphasized the significance of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, noting that India is well-prepared to meet its challenges and capitalize on its opportunities. She highlighted the crucial role that institutions like JC Bose University will play in achieving the nation’s technological and industrial goals.

The President expressed her pleasure that the university has forged partnerships with various industrial and academic institutions over recent years. She also noted that several multinational companies have established Centers of Excellence on the campus to provide specialized training to students, expressing optimism that these initiatives would yield positive outcomes.

Speaking on the broader impact of technological advancements, President Murmu pointed out that new opportunities have emerged, particularly in remote areas, where internet access has opened doors to online employment. However, she cautioned that technology must be utilized for sustainable development and the public good, warning that its misuse could have dire consequences.

The President praised JC Bose University for its efforts in empowering the youth with skills and self-reliance. She was particularly pleased with the university’s impressive alumni network, which boasts individuals who are making significant contributions in various fields both in India and abroad. She encouraged the university administration to enhance the effectiveness of its Alumni Association to further these contributions.

Reflecting on the university’s namesake, the pioneering scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose, President Murmu noted his groundbreaking work in proving that plants and trees have feelings. She urged students to draw inspiration from his life and use technology to bring about positive change in society.

In her concluding remarks, the President reminded students of India’s rich cultural heritage, urging them to be proud flag bearers of this legacy. She advised them to have faith in their abilities and to move forward with self-confidence in pursuit of their goals.
