New Delhi, 12th Sept. Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal highlighted the growing collaboration between India and the United States in areas such as critical minerals, strengthening supply chains, and adopting advanced technologies. Goyal made these remarks during his keynote address at the US-India Business Council’s (USIBC) 49th Annual General Meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday.

While paying tribute to the victims of the 9/11 attacks, Goyal emphasized the need for global solidarity against terrorism. He stressed that India has long faced terrorism promoted across its borders and called for collective action to denounce acts like the 9/11 attacks, divisive propaganda, and inflammatory tendencies.

Goyal praised the resilience of the American people in the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy, urging India and the US to strengthen their partnership to create a safer, better world. He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government operates on the principle of “Reform-Perform-Transform,” which aims to reform the nation, enhance its performance, and improve the lives of its citizens.

Calling attention to the strategic relationship between India and the US, Goyal urged participants to share their positive experiences of working with India and help spread awareness about the country’s reform efforts. He also invoked Swami Vivekananda’s historic 1893 speech in Chicago, stating that the themes of universal tolerance and harmony resonate with the goals of partnership and prosperity in the modern era of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.

Goyal concluded by affirming that the cooperation between India and the US on critical technologies and shared interests would help both nations prosper and contribute to a better world.
