New Delhi, 28th May.
An alarming hoax bomb threat disrupted operations at the Delhi airport on Tuesday, as authorities swiftly evacuated a Varanasi-bound IndiGo flight after discovering a suspicious message in the aircraft’s washroom.

Flight 6E2211, bound for Varanasi with 176 passengers aboard, was moments away from departure when the pilot stumbled upon a tissue paper bearing the ominous message “bomb blast @30 minutes” inside the lavatory. Prompt action ensued as the aircraft was swiftly guided to the isolation bay, with a quick response team deployed to assess the situation.

Thankfully, thorough searches yielded no evidence of any imminent threat, and all passengers were safely evacuated via the emergency exits. IndiGo promptly arranged an alternate aircraft for the stranded travelers, ensuring their onward journey to Varanasi.

In a statement addressing the incident, IndiGo expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers, assuring that their safety remained paramount throughout the ordeal. Refreshments were provided to passengers before boarding the replacement flight, which departed for Varanasi later in the morning.

This incident follows a similar scare earlier this month when a tissue paper with the word ‘bomb’ inscribed on it was discovered aboard an Air India flight at the same airport. Fortunately, that incident also turned out to be a false alarm, underscoring the heightened vigilance and adherence to security protocols in aviation operations.
