Iran Speaker Tells Trump to End ‘Dangerous Game’ Amid Escalation

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump on Sunday warned Iran again and issued a fresh ultimatum as the military escalation came after rising tensions between Iran and the United States.

The Israel Defense Forces has carried out a large-scale military operation targeted over 200 infrastructure sites in Iran and over 140 Hezbollah-linked locations in Lebanon, marked a significant escalation in the ongoing regional conflict.

In a post on X, the military said it had “struck 200+ Iranian regime infrastructure targets across Iran, and 140+ Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure throughout Lebanon,” outlining the scale of the coordinated offensive.

According to the IDF, the strikes were aimed at dismantling long-range strike capabilities and defensive networks associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The military said key targets in Iran included a central IRGC facility used for weapons storage, along with air defence systems. These sites were described as critical to Iran’s military operations and its ability to project force.

Trump warned that Iran would face severe consequences, including potential destruction of key infrastructure, if a peace agreement is not reached within 48 hours.

He said in a post on his Truth Social platform that Iran must either strike a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz within the deadline.

“Time is running out—48 hours before all hell will rain down on them,” he wrote, reiterating an earlier 10-day warning.

Iran’s central military command has rejected the warning with General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters dismissed Trump’s remarks as “helpless” and “unbalanced.”

The sharp exchange of rhetoric signals a hardened positions on both sides, narrowing the scope for diplomacy.

Iranian parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on Sunday said US President Donald Trump’s “reckless moves” are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every single family, warned that the whole region is going to burn because the US leader insist on following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s commands.

He told Trump that the only real solution of the war is respecting the rights of Iranian people and “ending this dangerous game.”

“Make no mistake: You won’t gain anything through war crimes. The only real solution is respecting the rights of the Iranian people and ending this dangerous game,” he added.
