Jharkhand Election Survey: Mixed Reactions to Government and Leaders

Ranchi, 23rd August. A recent survey conducted by Aaj Tak in collaboration with C-Voter has assessed public sentiment in Jharkhand as the state approaches its upcoming assembly elections. The “Mood of the Nation” survey, carried out from July 15 to August 10, involved responses from 136,463 participants.

The survey reveals a mixed response to the current Jharkhand government. According to the results, 27% of respondents are satisfied with the government’s performance, while 37% express dissatisfaction. Additionally, 34% of those surveyed report being somewhat satisfied.

Regarding Chief Minister Hemant Soren, 25% of respondents are pleased with his work, whereas 35% are unhappy. About 30% of participants are somewhat satisfied with his performance.

The survey also assessed opinions on the opposition’s performance, with only 14% of respondents expressing satisfaction. In contrast, 30% are dissatisfied, and 17% are somewhat satisfied.

When it comes to MPs, 24% of respondents are satisfied with their work, 29% are dissatisfied, and 26% are somewhat satisfied. For MLAs, 28% are satisfied, 35% are dissatisfied, and 31% are somewhat satisfied.

Respondents were also asked about the most pressing issues facing them. The top concerns identified were unemployment (44%), inflation (15%), development (14%), corruption (3%), and issues related to law and order and farmers’ problems (2% each).

The survey further revealed that if elections were held today, 56% of respondents would vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while 35% would prefer Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister. This survey provides a snapshot of public sentiment in Jharkhand as the state gears up for its elections later this year.
