Rajouri, 23rd Nov.
A terrorist belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was killed on Thursday during a confrontation with security forces in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to a statement from a defence spokesman.

Four Army personnel, including two captains of special forces, were killed and two others injured in the encounter on Wednesday.

Fresh firing resumed in the Bajimaal area of the Dharmsal belt on Thursday morning after a temporary halt overnight. Additional security forces were deployed to cordon off the area and prevent the terrorists from escaping the heavily forested region.

The spokesman confirmed that one Pakistani terrorist, identified as Quari, was killed in the firing. Quari, a highly ranked leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba, had received training in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

He had been active in the Rajouri-Poonch region for the past year and was believed to be the mastermind behind the Dangri and Kandi attacks.

The spokesman also stated that Quari was sent to revive terrorism in the area and was an expert in IEDs. In January of this year, seven civilians were killed in an attack in Dangri.
