Ranchi, 5th April.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has chosen Nalin Soren, the Shikaripada legislator, to run for the Dumka Lok Sabha seat, confirming that Hemant Soren, the former chief minister currently in jail, will not be running in that constituency as previously rumored.

Additionally, the party has selected Mathura Prasad Mahto, the Tundi MLA, to run for the Giridih Lok Sabha seat.

A JMM leader stated that Nalin Soren will run for Dumka and Mathura Prasad Mahto for Giridih.

The BJP has already nominated Sita Soren, a former JMM MLA and sister-in-law of Hemant Soren, for the Dumka seat, which is reserved for Scheduled Tribes.

It is worth noting that the BJP initially renominated Sunil Soren as the MP for Dumka on March 2, but later withdrew his candidacy to field Sita Soren instead.

In the 2019 elections, Sunil Soren defeated JMM president Shibu Soren by 47,590 votes.

Sita Soren, who is a three-term MLA and the elder daughter-in-law of JMM leader Shibu Soren, recently joined the BJP, claiming that she was neglected by the JMM and isolated after her husband Durga Soren’s death in 2009.

On March 27, the Congress announced its candidates for three Lok Sabha seats in Lohardaga, Khunti, and Hazaribag.

Kalicharan Munda, Sukhdeo Bhagat, and Jai Prakashbhai Patel will be running for the Khunti (ST), Lohardaga (ST), and Hazaribagh seats, respectively.

According to leaders from the INDIA bloc, an initial agreement has been reached for the distribution of seats in all 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.

Under the initial agreement, the Congress will run in seven seats, the JMM in five, and the RJD and CPI (ML) Liberation in one seat each.
On March 30, the CPI (ML) Liberation announced Vinod Kumar Singh, a three-time MLA from the Bagodar seat, as their candidate for the Koderma Lok Sabha constituency in Jharkhand.

The BJP has announced candidates for 13 seats and has left Giridih for the AJSU Party.
