Karnataka, 5th May. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) of India, a federal body, is contemplating the issuance of a Blue Notice against Prajwal Revanna, a Member of Parliament (MP), on charges of alleged serious sexual assault. Revanna is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ally, the Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS). Currently living in Germany, Revanna traveled there with a diplomatic passport.

Following an urgent meeting with senior police personnel, the Chief Minister’s office in the southern Indian state of Karnataka said on Saturday, May 4, that the CBI may take up the matter.

“We’ll take the necessary steps to make the arrest. The CBI may issue a Blue Corner Notice, which would expedite the inquiry, according to a statement from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s office.

Kharge promises stern action

Meanwhile, Prajwal Revanna will face harsh legal action, according to Congress party President Mallikarjun Kharge, who made this announcement on Sunday, May 5.

“SIT has already acted upon this. Arrests and bail will occur in accordance with the law. Victims need justice, and those who commit these crimes ought to learn their lesson. Kharge informed the media that there are stringent laws.

Notably, the entire controversy has arisen in Karnataka, where Congress is currently the dominant party.

HD Revanna held back

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) seized HD Revanna, MP Prajwal Revanna’s father, on Saturday in connection with the alleged sexual assault case after a judge denied him any respite.

In addition to his son, HD Revanna has been charged with kidnapping in the sexual assault case.

A case was previously filed in this regard against HD Revanna at the Bengaluru police station located in KR Nagar.

The case’s specifics

A complaint submitted by the son of the woman who was reportedly “abducted and sexually abused” led to the booking of both JD(S) officials. The FIR claimed that HD Revanna’s son Prajwal, who is also the BJP-JD(S) Lok Sabha candidate from the Hassan constituency, had sexually assaulted a housemaid who had worked for six years at his residence. It is said that the woman was later abducted.

In Mysuru, a lawsuit was filed against Revanna, a former minister, and his close friend Sathish Babanna, who has already been taken into custody. The woman was allegedly abducted to stop her from testifying against Prajwal, according to police sources cited by news agency PTI.
