Kejriwal Likely to Resign After AAP MLAs’ Meeting on Tuesday

New Delhi, 16th Sept. A meeting of AAP MLAs is set for Tuesday morning, where Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to tender his resignation, the party said.

The appointment of a new chief minister will be discussed during the meeting at Kejriwal’s official residence.

After the meeting, Kejriwal will meet Lt Governor V K Saxena at 4:30 pm, where he is likely to submit his resignation.

Days after being released from Tihar jail on bail in the excise policy case, Kejriwal had announced his intention to step down and seek early elections in Delhi.

He stated that he would not return to the chief minister’s chair until the people gave him a “certificate of honesty.”
