New Delhi, 7th June.
Prominent members of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) voiced their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s candidacy for a third consecutive term. At a gathering in New Delhi, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and JDU’s Nitish Kumar publicly endorsed Modi as the alliance’s prime ministerial candidate.

Addressing the NDA meet, Chandrababu Naidu expressed confidence in Modi’s leadership, stating, “Today India is having the right leader at the right time. We are very confident under his leadership India will become the 1st or 2nd largest economy in the next 5 years.”

Nitish Kumar, in his speech, criticized the opposition INDIA alliance, asserting his party’s unwavering support for PM Modi. “The Opposition bloc has not done any work for the country. I will be with PM Modi at all times. All the pending works of Bihar will be done,” Kumar affirmed.

These declarations come amidst speculation regarding portfolio allocations in the new cabinet, scheduled to be sworn in on Sunday.

With the NDA securing 293 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha, the alliance’s victory is significant. However, with the BJP falling short of a majority government, key allies such as Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP, Nitish Kumar’s JDU, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, and Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas hold strategic importance in shaping the government’s trajectory.
