Kindergarten Assault Case: Preliminary Report Exposes School Negligence and Safety Lapses

Badlapur, 23rd August. A state-appointed two-member committee has released a preliminary report on the tragic case of two kindergarten girls, aged 3 and 4, who were sexually assaulted multiple times over the past 15 days. The report, based on initial findings, revealed that both girls suffered from ruptured hymens, raising alarm over the school’s handling of the situation and the failure to ensure the safety of its students.
According to sources, the report underscores severe shortcomings on the part of the school administration. The principal delayed reporting the incident for several days, only informing the school trustee on August 14. This delay has drawn sharp criticism for negligence and a lack of urgency in addressing the situation, potentially compromising the investigation.
Akshay Shinde, the accused, was employed by the school on a contractual basis starting on August 1. The report highlights that he was hired without undergoing any background checks, a critical oversight in the school’s vetting process. Shinde had unrestricted access to all areas of the school, including the female toilets, and was not issued an identity card, which the report identifies as major security lapses.
The report also raises the possibility that Shinde may be a habitual offender and calls for a deeper investigation into his hiring, particularly whether his employment was influenced by an outsourced agency or individual recommendations.
Additional findings indicate that the school’s toilets are located in an isolated area, far from the staff room, and were not equipped with adequate CCTV coverage for security monitoring. These factors are believed to have contributed to the repeated assaults on the children.
The handling of the case by local authorities has also come under scrutiny. As per sources, the investigating officer asked the parents whether the girls had been riding bicycles for two hours, displaying a disturbing lack of sensitivity and understanding in dealing with such a delicate case.
The revelations in the preliminary report have sparked outrage, with demands for immediate action against the school administration and calls for stricter safety protocols in educational institutions. The case has brought to light systemic failures in school safety measures, emphasizing the need for accountability and urgent reforms to protect children from such incidences.
