Lal Bahadur Shastri’s Grandson Vibhakar Shastri Quits Congress; Joins List of Recent Party Departures

New Delhi, 14th Feb. Vibhakar Shastri, the grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and son of Hari Krishna Shastri, announced his resignation from the Indian National Congress on Wednesday.

In a message posted on X, addressed to Congress President Shri Kharge, he tendered his resignation from the party.

Despite having previously contested Lok Sabha elections, Mr. Shastri has decided to part ways with the Congress.

His departure adds to a string of exits from the party in recent years, including prominent figures like Ashok Chavan, Milind Deora, Baba Siddiqui, Jyotiraditya Scindia, and others.
