Lashkar-e-Taiba Terrorist Killed in Encounter in J&K

 A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist group was killed during an encounter with security forces in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Friday.

Based on specific intelligence regarding the presence of a terrorist in Arihal village, security forces initiated a search operation in the area on Thursday, according to a police spokesman.

During the search, the hiding terrorist opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated, resulting in an encounter, the spokesman explained.

The terrorist, identified as Kifayat Ayoub Alie from Pinjoora Shopian, associated with the banned LeT organization, was neutralized. His body was recovered from the encounter site, the spokesman confirmed.

Police records indicate that he was involved in multiple terrorism-related crimes, the spokesman added.

Incriminating materials, firearms, and ammunition, including a pistol, two magazines, five rounds, and two grenades, were seized from the encounter site, according to the police.
