Lt Gen Shankar Narayan Assumes Command at Army Hospital

Lieutenant General Shankar Narayan, NM, VSM, has taken charge as the Commandant of Army Hospital (Research & Referral) today, marking a significant development in the leadership of the apex hospital under the Armed Forces Medical Services.

An alumnus of the 1982 (‘U’) batch of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, Lt Gen Narayan brings a wealth of specialized knowledge, having focused on Pediatrics with post-doctoral sub-specialization in Neonatology from AIIMS, New Delhi, and training in Pediatric Liver Transplantation at King’s College Hospital, London.

In his extensive career, Lt Gen Narayan has excelled in patient care, clinical services, postgraduate teaching, and medical administration. Upon assuming command, he expressed gratitude to his predecessors for guiding the hospital to its current esteemed position.

He affirmed his commitment to leveraging this foundation to deliver top-notch patient care in a state-of-the-art environment, emphasizing high-quality training and cutting-edge research initiatives.
