Bhopal, 29th May.
The Madhya Pradesh Police terminated the services of Inspector Sushil Majoka on Tuesday after he was allegedly caught accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh while assisting the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in its probe into an alleged nursing colleges scam.

Majoka, an inspector with the Crime Research Department of the Madhya Pradesh Police, was attached to the CBI during the investigation into corruption and irregularities in nursing colleges. As per a letter from the CBI, New Delhi, Majoka demanded and accepted the bribe, resulting in his arrest under the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act.

Following his arrest, Majoka’s services were repatriated to the Madhya Pradesh Police, and he was suspended on May 22. Inspector General of the Crime Research Department, Anurag Sharma, subsequently dismissed him from service, citing the tarnishing of the police’s image and a failure to uphold high moral values.

Majoka’s dismissal was executed under Article 311 of the Constitution, which allows for the termination of government employees’ services. This action follows the recent termination of CBI Inspector Rahul Raj, who was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹10 lakh from Malay College of Nursing chairman Anil Bhaskaran and his wife Suma Anil. Both individuals have also been arrested.

The CBI initiated its investigation after surveillance by its internal vigilance unit revealed corruption within one of the support teams tasked by the Madhya Pradesh High Court to assess infrastructure in nursing colleges. As a result, the Madhya Pradesh government ordered the closure of 66 nursing colleges across 31 districts, aligning with the High Court’s directive amid the ongoing probe into the alleged nursing college scam. This scam involves significant irregularities in the operation of several nursing colleges, with some lacking infrastructure and others existing only on paper.
