Patna, 8th Sept. The Magadh Express (20802) traveling from New Delhi to Islampur split into two after the coupling between two coaches broke in Bihar’s Buxar district on Sunday.

No passengers were injured in the incident, according to the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway, Sharswati Chandra.

The train uncoupled between coaches S-7 and S-6, which were the 13th and 14th from the engine, as it passed between Twiniganj and Raghunathpur railway stations. The incident occurred at around 11:08 AM, causing disruption to rail traffic on the down line.

“Restoration work was completed, and the Magadh Express resumed its journey at 2:25 PM. Rail traffic was restored soon after,” said the CPRO. The disruption lasted over three hours, and an inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the coupling failure.

Technical teams and a rescue team were dispatched to the site immediately to fix the issue and ensure the safety of the passengers.
