GG News Bureau

New Delhi, 22nd Sept. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde attacked Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday. Shinde claimed to be the true heir to Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideals.

Shinde, who is in Delhi with some of his cabinet members, claimed that those who “shortchanged” Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideals were labeling the Shiv Sena faction that supports him as “betrayers.”

The Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Uddhav Thackeray, which included the Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress, fell apart in June following a revolt led by Shinde against the Sena leadership.

Shinde was later sworn in as chief minister, with Devendra Fadnavis of the BJP serving as his deputy.

The two factions have engaged in a bitter war of words, each claiming to be the “real” Shiv Sena and the legacy of Balasaheb Thackeray.
