Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari Apologises for Recent Unintentional Statements

Mumbai, 2nd August. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari issued an apology statement for his recent inadvertent remarks about specific communities.

Koshyari previously had said that if Gujarati and Rajasthani people are removed from the city, Mumbai will no longer be India’s financial capital. The statement had caused quite a stir in the state.

Koshyari said in a statement released on Monday that each and every community has played an important role in the development of not only Maharashtra, but the entire country. He expressed hope that people will forgive his error, citing Maharashtra as a state of generous citizens who believe in the development of all.
