Major Reshuffle In The Bureaucracy of Bihar Government

Sr IAS Officer KK Pathak, who is said to be Nitish's favourite, is also transferred

Patna, June 18. Bihar government reshuffled 9 senior IAS officers including Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department KK Pathak. Pathak’s tenure was full of controversies. Pathak, a 1990 batch IAS officer, is currently on leave. Upon his return, he will take charge of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department. He has been considered a favourite officer of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

According to the notification issued by the General Administration Department, Pathak will replace Deepak Kumar Singh (1992 batch IAS officer), who has been sent to the Rural Affairs Department.

Pathak will also continue to hold the additional charge of Director General, Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD). Apart from him, S Siddhartha (Additional Chief Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat) will hold additional charge of the Education Department. Siddharth is a 1991 batch IAS officer. 1995 batch IAS officer Arvind Kumar Chaudhary has been appointed as the new Principal Secretary of the Home Department.

2002 batch IAS officer Pankaj Kumar Pal has been appointed as the new secretary of the Rural Development Department. Director of Social Welfare Department Raj Kumar, a 2010 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Bhojpur district. Other than this 2015 batch IAS Prashant Kumar CH has been posted in Social Welfare department as Director with immediate effect
