Ukhrul,Manipur, 13th April :Joint Operation by Local Police and Security Forces in Manipur
In a major success for security forces, a large-scale operation in Manipur has led to the destruction of a total of 21 illegal bunkers in Ukhrul district. Police described this operation as a significant step towards restoring peace and order in the state.
According to local police sources, 14 illegal bunkers were destroyed in Chikibung village and another 7 in the Mongkot Chepu area of Ukhrul district. These bunkers were suspected to have been used by extremist groups.
In a separate operation, security forces recovered 13 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Tengnoupal district. Police stated that these explosives could have potentially caused major damage in the region if not seized.
All of these operations were conducted as joint efforts between local police and central security forces. Authorities have clarified that such operations will continue in the coming days to maintain law and order in the state.
The operations have reportedly brought a sense of relief among local residents following these developments.
