Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey Inaugurates New Auditorium at Army School, Imphal

Imphal, 22nd Feb. Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey inaugurated a new auditorium named after Captain Vikram Batra at the Army School in Pangei, Imphal. The event also included a tree plantation ceremony and the unveiling of a memorial plaque.

Addressing the students, the Governor emphasized the pivotal role of education in the nation’s development. She highlighted the crucial role of teachers in shaping students into educated and morally upright individuals, underscoring the importance of fostering an educated society. She further stated that through education, students not only acquire knowledge but also cultivate values, culture, and Indian ethos.

The Governor highlighted that the Military School Imphal, established in 1971, stands as one of the premier schools in the country today, owing to the dedicated efforts of school authorities. The primary objective of military schools is to prepare students for admission to prestigious academic institutions, physical training academies, and similar military institutions.

Governor Uikey lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative in 2021 to provide opportunities for students to study in military schools. She expressed confidence that such initiatives would provide a platform for girl cadets to showcase their abilities in national defense and other training programs. Sharing life experiences with the students, she revealed the secret to success.

Governor Anusuiya Uikey appealed to all cadets to continue working hard even in challenging situations and contribute significantly to making India a developed nation.

During her visit, she joined lunch with 540 cadets, inspected the Girls’ Hostel of the Military School, and reviewed the progress of the under-construction building.

The event was attended by Group Captain Rajneesh Kumar, Principal of Military School Imphal, Lieutenant Colonel Satish Kumar, Vice Principal of Military School Imphal, Squadron Leader L.R. Jote, Administrative Officer of Military School Imphal, Kimi N. Kulkarni Devi, Director of Planning, Manipur Government, teachers, and students of the school.
