Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut slammed the BJP and Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti for their previous alliance in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

The remarks came shortly after the former Chief Minister called on the BJP government to engage in dialog with Pakistan and the people of Jammu and Kashmir, saying that peace would be elusive as long as the Kashmir issue remained unresolved.”

Mehbooba Mufti is a close ally of the BJP. Despite her support for Afzal Guru and Burhan Wani, the BJP formed a government in Jammu and Kashmir with her. Whatever she says today is the fault of the BJP.
Raut said today, “Our party will continue to oppose it.”

Earlier this week, he chastised the BJP, questioning where their “political ideology” had gone as the party formed a government with Mufti. The Shiv Sena, according to Raut, was and always would be a Hindutva party. For the uninitiated, Mufti was sworn in as Jammu and Kashmir’s last Chief Minister in April 2016, forming a coalition government with the BJP. The saffron party withdrew from the government in 2018.
Earlier on Saturday, Mufti urged people to vote for the People’s Alliance for Gukpar Declaration in the upcoming Assembly Elections. “For the past 70 years, Kashmir has been waiting for a solution. There will be no peace in the region until the Kashmir issue is resolved, which requires dialogue with Pakistan and the people of Jammu and Kashmir “according to the former chief minister. She also accused the BJP of promoting Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files in order to polarize people. The film, which has been tax-free in several states, is based on the 1990s exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.
“Rather, an effort by the BJP to rehabilitate the Pandits over the last eight years would have been better,” she remarked.
