MES Officers Must Ensure Reliability and Quality,’ Says President Murmu to Probationers

New Delhi, 12th July. Probationers of the Military Engineer Services (MES) called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan today, July 12, 2024.

In her address, the President emphasized the critical role of MES in Indian security, highlighting its support not only to the three branches of the Indian Army but also to various units within the Ministry of Defence.

She underscored that the primary objective of MES is to ensure robust infrastructure and high-quality facilities for the defense forces. The true measure of MES officers’ success, she noted, lies in the reliability and quality of the infrastructure and services they provide. She urged the officers to remain ever-vigilant and to earn respect by upholding the highest standards in their work.

The President also advised MES officers to consider climate change adaptation and mitigation while building infrastructure.

She stressed the importance of minimizing the carbon footprint of their projects and expressed satisfaction with MES’s ongoing efforts in this direction.

Furthermore, the President reminded the officers that their responsibilities extend beyond technical duties to include ethical and managerial aspects.

She encouraged them to commit to the efficient and effective use of the country’s resources in all their endeavors. By maintaining high efficiency and moral standards, she concluded, MES officers will significantly contribute to strengthening the nation’s security.
