MoS Defence Ajay Bhatt Reviews Operational Readiness, Interact with Troops During Chandimandir Visit

 Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt undertook a visit to the Headquarters Western Command in Chandimandir on February 12, 2024.

During the visit, he received comprehensive briefings on operational and security situations, as well as administrative aspects from Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, GOC-in-C Western Command.

Ajay Bhatt also visited the 474 Engineer Brigade, where he was briefed on the operational capabilities and readiness of the Kharga Sappers. Witnessing training activities, he later interacted with troops stationed at both Zirakpur and Chandimandir military stations.

In recognition of the commendable service provided by Western Command, MoS Defence Ajay Bhatt praised the establishment’s Rehabilitation Centre in Mohali and Senior Veterans’ Home in Panchkula. He lauded the troops’ operational preparedness and high morale, encouraging them to maintain their dedication in serving and safeguarding the nation.

Prior to his visit to Western Command, the Minister of State for Defence also paid a visit to the NCC Group Headquarters in Chandigarh. There, he inspected the ceremonial guard and enjoyed a cultural program presented by NCC cadets.

Speaking to the cadets, he urged them to strive for excellence in all endeavors and emphasized the importance of becoming exemplary citizens. Drawing from his own experience as an NCC cadet, he shared insights with the gathered cadets.

Later, MoS Defence Ajay Bhatt visited the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) in Chandigarh, where he reviewed ongoing research and projects. As one of the major DRDO labs focusing on armament studies, TBRL conducts vital research in areas such as high explosives, detonics, and shock waves.

Additionally, it plays a crucial role in developing data and design parameters for new armaments and evaluating the terminal effects of ammunition.
