MP Cabinet: CM Mohan Yadav Assigns Portfolios to 30 Ministers, Vijayvargiya Given Urban Development

Bhopal, 31st Dec. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday allocated portfolios to the newly sworn-in members of his cabinet. He has kept the Home Department for himself and given the Finance Department to Deputy CM Jagdish Devda.

The current strength of the state cabinet, including the chief minister, is 31. The Madhya Pradesh cabinet can have a maximum of 35 ministers.

Chief Minister Yadav has retained the General Administration, Home, Jail, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Public Relations, Narmada Valley Development, Aviation, Mineral Resources, Public Service Management, Overseas Indian, and all other departments not specifically assigned to any minister.

1. Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda has been given the departments of Finance, Commercial Taxes, Planning, Economics, and Statistics.

2. Another Deputy Chief Minister, Rajendra Shukla, will handle Public Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education.

3. Kunwar Vijay Shah has been assigned Tribal Affairs, Public Assets Management, Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief, and Rehabilitation.

4. Kailash Vijayvargiya has been allotted the Urban Development and Housing, and Parliamentary Affairs departments.

5. Prahlad Singh Patel will oversee the Panchayat and Rural Development, and Labour departments.

6. Rakesh Singh will be responsible for the Public Works department.

7. Karon Singh Venna has been given the Revenue department.

8. Uday Pratap Singh will take care of the Transport and School Education departments.

9. Sampatiya Uikey will handle the Public Health Engineering department.

10. Tulsiram Silawat has been assigned the Water Resources department.

11. Aidal Singh Kansan will be responsible for the Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development department.

12. Sushri Nirmala Bhuriya has been allocated the Women and Child Development department.

13. Govind Singh Rajput will oversee the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection department.

14. Vishwas Sarang has been given the Sports and Youth Welfare, and Co-operation departments.

15. Narayan Singh Kushwah has been assigned the Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, and Horticulture and Food Processing departments.

16. Nagar Singh Chouhan will be responsible for the Forest, Environment, and Scheduled Caste Welfare departments.

17. Pradhurnan Singh Tomar has been given the Energy department.

18. Rakesh Shukla has been allocated the New and Renewable Energy department.

19. Chetanyn Kasyap will handle the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises department.

20. Inder Singh Parmar will be responsible for the Higher Education, Ayush, Technical Education, Skill Minister Development, and Employment (Technical Education only) departments.

21. Krishna Gaur has been given the Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Welfare departments.

22. Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi will oversee the Culture, Tourism, Religious Trusts, and Endowments departments.

23. Dilip Jaiswal has been assigned the Cottage and Rural Industries department.

24. Gotham Tetwal will handle the Technical Education, Skill Development, and Employment (Skill Development and Employment only) departments.

25. Lakhan Patel has been given the Animal Husbandry and Dairying department.

26. Narayan Singh Panwar will be responsible for the Fisherman Welfare and Fisheries Development department.

27. Narendra Shivaji Patel will handle the Health and Family Welfare department.

28. Pratima Bagh has been assigned the Urban Development and Housing department.

29. Ahirwar Dilip will oversee the Forest and Environment departments.

30. Radha Singh has been allocated the Panchayat and Rural Development department.

Bharatiya Janata Party elevated three-time MLA Mohan Yadav as Chief Minister on December 11. He, along with his deputies, took oath on December 13. Two weeks later, 28 MLAs were sworn in as ministers in Mohan Yadav’s cabinet, which consists of 18 council of ministers and 10 state ministers on December 25.

Notably, the chief minister was named ten days after the formation of the BJP government, the cabinet of 28 ministers was formed after 22 days, while ministers were assigned departments after 27 days.
