MP Govt Announces Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle: Establishes ACS Roles in Chief Minister’s Office

In a significant administrative reshuffle in Madhya Pradesh, three top IAS officers have been reassigned by the state government. Dr. Rajesh Rajaura has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), while Dr. Sanjay Shukla has been named the Principal Secretary in the CMO following the removal of the Model Code of Conduct.

Dr. Rajesh Rajaura is currently serving as ACS in the Narmada Valley Development Department. The orders were issued late Tuesday evening by the state government.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Shukla, Chief Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. Shukla will also retain additional responsibilities for Women and Child Development, Planning, Economic and Statistical Departments. Furthermore, Rashmi Arun Shami, Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, has been given additional charge of the Happiness Department.

This marks a historic moment in Madhya Pradesh’s governance as it witnesses the establishment of ACS positions in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. With Shukla’s appointment, there are now two Principal Secretaries in the CMO, alongside Raghavendra Singh, who continues as the Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister.
