Narayan Rane Inaugurates MSME Technology Centers, Emphasizes Sector’s Vital Role in Economy

Union Minister for MSME Shri Narayan Rane inaugurated four Technology Centers and two Extension Centers in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh in a significant move to bolster the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.

Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Rane underscored the pivotal role of MSMEs in the nation’s economy, emphasizing the Ministry’s commitment to supporting and nurturing these enterprises.

Highlighting the importance of the newly inaugurated Technology Centers, Minister Rane emphasized that they would play a crucial role in providing essential assistance to MSMEs in the region, enabling them to enhance their capabilities and competitiveness.

He urged MSMEs to strive for excellence and aim to become globally competitive, thereby contributing to India’s self-reliance objectives.
Echoing Minister Rane’s sentiments, Shri Rakesh Sachan, Minister of MSME, Uttar Pradesh, highlighted the state government’s initiatives aimed at empowering youth to become employment providers. He lauded the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath in fostering a conducive environment for MSMEs to thrive.

As part of the inauguration, MSME Technology Centers were also inaugurated in Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), and Imphal (Manipur), along with Extension Centers in Karimnagar and Bhavanipatna (Odisha). These centers, under the Ministry of MSME, offer cutting-edge facilities for manufacturing and production, including access to high-end machinery, technology, and consultancy services.
Additionally, Development and Facilitation Offices of DC (MSME) at Dehradun (Uttarakhand) and Development and Facilitation Office (Nucleus Center) at Ladakh were inaugurated during the event.

A special Scheme for Informal Micro Enterprises, facilitated by the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises, was also launched during the occasion. This scheme aims to provide financial support and opportunities to micro and nano enterprises, thereby mitigating credit risk and encouraging lending institutions to support these enterprises.

Furthermore, the Ministry signed two MoUs with India EXIM Bank, which are expected to benefit MSME exporters by providing vital trade and export-related information.

The event also witnessed the distribution of toolkits to women entrepreneurs trained under the ODOP scheme of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. An exhibition featuring MSMEs from various sectors, stalls for Incubators, special ODOP Products from different districts of Uttar Pradesh, and stalls of KVIC and COIR Board were also part of the event.

Additionally, the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, aimed at providing comprehensive support to artisans and craftspeople, was highlighted during the event. As of February 14, 2024, a significant number of registrations have been made under the scheme, with a notable participation from Uttar Pradesh. An Experience Centre showcasing trades covered under the scheme was also set up to raise awareness about its benefits.
