New Delhi, 12th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday highlighted the government’s efforts to promote women-led development over the past 12 years, stating that women are playing a leading role across diverse sectors and contributing significantly to nation-building.
In a series of posts marking #12YearsOfNariShakti, the Prime Minister said the government’s policies have focused on dignity, opportunity and empowerment, enabling women to realize their full potential and emerge as key drivers of India’s growth story.
Modi noted that women’s participation has expanded across sectors ranging from financial inclusion and entrepreneurship to education, healthcare, sanitation, housing, sports, science and governance.
He said the government’s initiatives have helped create an environment where women can contribute more effectively to national development while achieving greater social and economic empowerment.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the growing presence of women in fields such as science, space and innovation. He said increasing participation in emerging sectors, including drone technology, is opening new opportunities and transforming the country’s development landscape.
Highlighting efforts to strengthen economic self-reliance among women, Modi said the government is actively supporting Self Help Groups, which are helping millions of women become financially independent and participate more actively in economic activities.
Paying tribute to India’s women, the Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam describing Nari Shakti as the foundation of nation-building and the embodiment of strength. He said mothers, sisters and daughters are enhancing the pride of the nation through their talent, dedication and achievements in every field.
The Prime Minister reiterated that empowering women remains central to India’s development journey and that their growing contribution across sectors is helping shape a stronger and more inclusive nation.
