NDA Govt Committed to Hassle-Free Experience for Amarnath Yatra Devotees: Amit Shah

Bharat ‘s Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah chaired a crucial high-level meeting on Sunday in New Delhi to assess security and logistical preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The meeting, attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau, senior Army officers including Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande and Chief of Army Staff (Designate) Lt. General Upendra Dwivedi, Director General of CAPFs, Chief Secretary, and DGP of Jammu & Kashmir, focused on ensuring a safe and seamless pilgrimage experience for devotees.

During the review, Amit Shah instructed security agencies to maintain vigilance and ensure adequate deployment of personnel for the Amarnath Yatra. He emphasized the need for flawless inter-agency coordination to implement robust security measures, including a well-established standard operating response mechanism.

Underlining the commitment of the Modi government, Amit Shah affirmed their dedication to facilitating a hassle-free and eco-friendly pilgrimage experience under the Prime Minister’s leadership. He reiterated that the government’s priority is to ensure devotees can undertake the Holy Darshan of Shri Amarnath Ji without any inconvenience.

The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has undertaken extensive initiatives to enhance safety and comfort for devotees participating in the Yatra, which commences on June 29th this year. Last year, more than 4.5 lakh devotees had the opportunity to partake in the holy pilgrimage. The administration has organized comprehensive arrangements, including streamlined registration processes, convoy movements, camping facilities, medical services, track upgrades, and provisions for power, water supply, and mobile connectivity.

The meeting concluded with directives to implement these measures effectively to uphold the sanctity and security of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
