NDA’s VP Candidate Jagdeep Dhankar to File His Nomination Today

New Delhi, 18th July. Jagdeep Dhankhar, the vice-presidential candidate of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), will file his nomination today.

The deadline for filing nominations is tomorrow, and the election will be held on August 6.

Margaret Alva is the Democratic Party’s nominee for Vice President. She plans to submit her nomination tomorrow.

The Vice-President is elected by members of the Electoral College, which includes members of both Houses of Parliament.

The Electoral College for the 16th Vice-Presidential Election comprises 233 elected Rajya Sabha members and 12 nominated Lok Sabha members, as well as 543 elected Lok Sabha members. The Electoral College is made up of 788 members from both Houses of Parliament.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu’s tenure concludes on the 10th of next month.

Meanwhile, President Ram Nath Kovind has accepted West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation. Kovind appointed Manipur Governor La. Ganesan to take on the responsibilities of West Bengal Governor in addition to his own duties.
