New Delhi, 29th June.
The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is set to announce the date for the National Eligibility Entrance Test, Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 next week, confirmed NBEMS president Abhijat Sheth to ANI. This decision follows a recent meeting between NBEMS officials and the Union Health Ministry to evaluate the situation and provide feedback to the government.

Earlier controversies surrounding the NEET UG exams led to the cancellation of the NEET PG 2024 exam just 12 hours before its scheduled date on June 23.

The NEET PG 2024 exam was originally planned for March 3 but was rescheduled to July 7. Subsequently, the National Medical Commission (NMC) postponed it to June 23 due to the Rath Yatra event, which was later canceled following controversies surrounding the NEET UG exams. NBEMS president emphasized the exam’s integrity was never in doubt. Nonetheless, student concerns have prompted the government to revise SOPs and protocols to enhance exam sanctity, safety, and security.

Addressing concerns raised by students, the NBEMS president reaffirmed the integrity of the NEET-PG exam while emphasizing recent updates to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols to ensure exam sanctity, safety, and security.

Earlier announcements by NBEMS introduced mandatory time-bound sections for various computer-based medical entrance exams, including NEET-PG, to bolster exam security.

Under this new structure, candidates must complete each section within designated time limits, with no opportunity to revise answers once a section’s time has elapsed. The exam, lasting 3 hours and 30 minutes, comprises 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) distributed across these time-bound sections.
