Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari on Friday laid the foundation stone for two National Highway projects worth Rs 1750 crore in Mirzapur.

The newly inaugurated projects, totaling over Rs 1750 crore, include the construction of a 4-lane Mirzapur bypass featuring a 6-lane bridge over the Ganga river on National Highway 135A spanning 15 kilometers.

Additionally, repair work will be undertaken on a 59-kilometer stretch from Mirzapur to Prayagraj and from Prayagraj to Pratapgarh on National Highways 35 and 330.

Upon completion, these projects are expected to facilitate easier access to religious sites in Mirzapur, thereby boosting tourism.

Furthermore, the enhanced infrastructure will catalyze economic development across several districts, including Prayagraj and Purvanchal.

The construction of a 4-lane Mirzapur bypass over the Ganga river will alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity between Mirzapur and Ayodhya, stimulating increased trade activities in the region.
