Piyush Goyal Commends Remarkable Contribution of Consumer Electronics Industry in India

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday praised the consumer electronics industry in India for its significant contribution.

Speaking at the 44th Annual Function of the Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association (CEAMA) in New Delhi, Goyal emphasized the importance of collaboration between the industry and the government to achieve common goals.

Goyal stressed the need to seize opportunities, engage internationally, and embrace competitiveness to ensure India’s growth. He highlighted the importance of meeting consumer demands for high-quality and competitively-priced products.

Goyal urged the industry to prioritize quality and support domestic manufacturers, as well as opt for Indian-made components and products to create jobs and enhance competitiveness in local and global markets. He mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for people to become Viksit Bharat Ambassadors and encouraged attendees to join the program.

He emphasized the vision of a corruption-free India and people-powered development led by 1.4 billion Indians. Goyal also discussed the ongoing international trade negotiations and the importance of projecting India as the world’s fifth-largest economy with the potential to become a trillion-dollar economy.

He highlighted the strength of India’s startup ecosystem and its young population as opportunities for growth. Goyal emphasized the significance of lower inflation rates and reduced interest costs in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.

The Minister highlighted various social welfare initiatives led by the government, including providing free food grains, housing for the underprivileged, electrification of villages and households, and expanding healthcare services. He also advocated for women’s participation and recognition in India’s development journey.

Goyal mentioned the success of the Digital India initiative and its impact on rural areas.

He expressed optimism about the transformation of Indian manufacturing capabilities towards sustainable practices and the production of high-quality goods.

In conclusion, Goyal emphasized the crucial role of the consumer electronics industry in India’s growth and called for a focus on innovation, quality, and sustainability to ensure a brighter future for the nation.
