New Delhi, 14th Oct. Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles, released a “Compendium of PM GatiShakti” in New Delhi on Friday to mark the two-year completion of PM GatiShakti.

The Compendium showcases successful examples of the adoption and benefits of PM GatiShakti across the country.

The release event was attended by Som Parkash, the Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry; Sumita Dawra, the Special Secretary (Logistics) of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, and other senior officials.

Over the past two years, PM GatiShakti has played a crucial role in planning over 7,000 kilometers of expressways. Digital surveys using GIS maps have expedited field surveys.

In the year 2022-23, there has been a significant increase in Final Location Surveys (FLS) for new railway lines, with over 400 projects compared to just 57 the previous year. This has resulted in the planning of an impressive 13,500 kilometers of railway lines.

PM GatiShakti has also revolutionized the preparation of detailed surveys for petroleum and natural gas pipelines, reducing the process from 6-9 months to just a few hours.

This demonstrates a commitment to environmental conservation by minimizing deforestation.

The Compendium highlights eight exemplary use cases that illustrate the widespread adoption and significant benefits of PM GatiShakti across the country.

These cases include the planning of expressways and Multimodal Logistics Parks by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, rail connectivity planning by the Ministry of Railways, planning of green energy corridors by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and initiatives such as setting up schools in underserved areas of Uttar Pradesh.

The Compendium will serve as an important resource to showcase the benefits and usefulness of PM GatiShakti to stakeholders and encourage wider adoption.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the implementation of PM GatiShakti is reaching new heights.

It is facilitating the development of Next Generation Infrastructure, improving the ease of doing business and the ease of living.

PM GatiShakti represents an innovative approach to infrastructure planning by utilizing data for informed decision-making.

This strategy integrates multiple layers of data on GIS maps to streamline digital surveys, revolutionizing the infrastructure planning process and significantly reducing field survey time and project timelines.

It provides complete visibility of connectivity points, reduces investment risks, simplifies governance for multimillion-dollar projects, and promotes economic and social connectivity.
